The Impractical Perils Of The Unmade Mind

from A Finer World by Spiderlegs

/

lyrics

if anything I ever did really mattered
Now’s the time to say that it did
Decisions must be made without/keeping anything hidden

And I’ve never been assessed this kind of Self Evaluation
These are the impractical perils of an unmade mind

If only I could hold up and see all the answers
And know how things could have been so much better than this

And Ive never been scrutinized like this before
Knowing me /inside and outside /and it Goes on forever

Hold this for me/one last time
My hands shake
every time I try to take it with me
Every time I say goodbye
Every time I breathe 2x
Every time I say good bye

Now we’re back in the right direction
And hauling ass there in record time
We finally know the difference between
How things are/and how they should be

We’ve never seen this theory/
applied in real time
And we didn’t think it would last and last and last this long

Hold me /for one last second/one last time
I’m shaking /every time I open up my eyes
every time I try to put it down
It talks to me like a lover
And makes me feel guilty/for saving my own life
It seeks an end /it needs an end so
It can go back to the beginning and
start things over

But we/are not ready to fall/ into that pit again and/lose everything
We lost it all before/it hurt and we were cold/ with nothing to eat/and no one to show us a good time

So we got ready to fall/into the mouth of hell/
to be chewed up
And swallowed and shit on the ground

This isn’t why we were born in this place/ And during this time /
we were made for something,
something better than this

So much better than this
